2023 Bluffton, South Carolina - Hoots XI
Hoots took place from October 22 through October 29, 2023. We had 73 Newmar coaches at the beautiful Hilton Head National RV Resort. National Indoor RV Center (NIRVC) once again sponsored 2 1/2 days of Hoots this year, providing food, drinks and entertainment. We were very happy to have Newmar executives join us to answer questions and see what Hoots is all about. Welcome Party
We started the week with a meet and greet beer keg social. This has become a tradition allowing everyone to decompress after a day of traveling to the resort and renew old friendships and start making some new ones. Progressive Happy Hour / Coach Stroll
For the second year in a row, we enjoyed the Progressive Happy Hour and Coach Stroll. We moved around as a group (or parliament which is a group of owls) between four areas within the campground where the Hoots served everyone either food, drink or a desert and opened their coaches to show off their floor plans, customizations and decorating prowess. Tech Sessions and Fireside Chats
This year we not only had Tech Sessions during the day, but we also added some Fireside Chats in the evening. Each Fireside Chat had a topic where many Hoots gathered together around the fire and discussed the topic. Golf Scramble
Hilton Head National RV Resort has a golf course, so this year, some Hoots organized a Golf Scramble. The Hilton Head National Golf Course is beautiful and everyone enjoyed their round of golf. Sponsor Provided Food, Drinks and Entertainment
Once again this year NIRVC sponsored fun activities, tech talks, food and drinks. The first night we enjoyed a distillery tasting, a low country boil and Deas-Guyz, where the Hoots enjoyed a fun-filled evening with fantastic music and dancing. The next night we were treated to an excellent BBQ dinner and a DJ. Fun Hoots Activities Organized by Hoots
Lots of Hoots volunteered to provide the Hoots activities that we all enjoy. Once again, we continued our tradition of the Pancake Breakfast and the Dirty Dogs Night. For the third year, Eric and Linda provided pickle ball lessons and lots of Hoots came out to learn the game. We also added a craft session that was well attended with over 30 participants making oyster shell trinket dishes. |
